First letters are automatically changed to uppercase FOR ALL WORDS in title headers. I just tested 4.0.1, and the problem still exists.

There is currently no way to deactivate this in the customizer. Maybe it should be possible to deselect the “Aa” for headings?

  • I have the same problem. How can we fix this?

The developers need to fix it. Imagine updating, and then all or most titles on a large site are changed because of this. It’s not impossible to imagine that this could have adverse SEO effects.

I don’t see the point of forcing letters to be capitalized in the first place. It should be up to the writer which capitalization style they use.

    I agree 100%

You can fix this by unchecking the boxes in the blog post title design section. Here’s a screenshot if you have access to the Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/wpastra/posts/1511426599326599/?comment_id=1512240585911867&reply_comment_id=1512242829244976.

The UI seems to be unfinished so the changes aren’t shown in the live view (you need to save and reload). Astra’s custom selector design also mixes checkbox and radio button behavior, lacks descriptions and cannot be used with the keyboard alone (accessibility issue).

    Thanks a lot, that worked!

I have the same relative problem. I searched in title settings under “Appearance” as said by @karlemilnikka but I can’t find this box to uncheck.

Thanks @karlemilnikka. I did it and awaiting approval.

@reteinformatica Oh. I didn’t know it required approval. Here’s a temporary direct link in the meanwhile: https://send.bitwarden.com/#I59onu9DwUqWEa-LAMpn3Q/nznTN-2L7QePel0NQc8ZRA.

Keep in mind that there’s a bug causing some of the changes to not be reflected in the live-preview. Uncheck the marked boxes, save the changes and reload.

Customize -> Blog -> Single Post -> Post Title -> Design -> Title Font -> Click the Aa on the left -> Publish. Do the same for the Blog / Archive.

It won’t actually show that the Aa was unchecked before you publish, but just click it once and then publish and that should do the trick.

Hopefully, they are busy working on a fix for the UI. It seems like there are several problems after the 4.0.0 update.

Thank you very much @karlemilnikka, now yes, I did it.

Thank you very much to you too @wordprass, without your details I would have had some confusion in fact I still saw the checked box even if I had selected the other one.

Hello, I have the same problem.
Unfortunately, this setting does not work for me.
It stays with text-trandform:capitalize for me.
I had to solve it with CSS unfortunately. Hopefully this problem will be fixed soon.

I thought I fixed it but it really isn’t. The words are not capitalized only in the list of blog articles but if I access each single article the letter of the title has every word with a capital letter. Furthermore, if I create a new article, it capitalizes each word in the title without the possibility of changing it.

Now it works all at once. I have activated and deactivated the options for the headings several times in the global settings. I don’t know why it works now.

    Hi guys,

What shared by Karl above should work. Thanks for sharing, mate! ??

Here is a video that, hopefully, will work help better. We are also sorry for the inconvenience.

    Kind regards,
    Herman ??
