Upoading .xpi files

  • I wanted to post a Firefox add-on on my blog so that users can download it. Unfortunately, I get this error measage:

    “bbspeedmap.xpi” has failed to upload due to an error
    Sorry, this file type is not permitted for security reasons.

    It is an executable file so I understand why not, but the page warns users explicitly.

    Are there any ways around this ?
