Uploads working but viewing goes to the wrong path

Hi all,

Been pulling my hair out for hours over this. I am using a single install running multiple wordpresses (one dir + s links on linux to save space on a over flowing webserver). I have changed the default uploades path from:

/blog/wp-content/uploads/

To:

/blog/uploads/

I upload fine, it sits in the Dir happy as larry, but when you goto “insert into post” the image itself is still pointing to:

/blog/wp-content/uploads/

If I remove the “wp-content” from the Dir it works perfectly.. any ideas? I dont think the users will be to happy that they have to change a link everytime ??
