Uploads: From no media folder structure to year/month after thousands of images

    I run a site with WordPress since 12 years (since 2008)
    At first I was not using the media year/month structure
    Then someday I activated it
    Then something must have happen in either an update, a server crash, or a hosting transfer… but I still have no folder structure today, and just recently discovered it as I don’t look at this setting often.

    So right now I have this
    – /uploads = 4200 files
    – /uploads/2007/ 11-12
    – /uploads/2008/ 1-2-3-4

    Now I know if I activate it again it will work but only for the future images to be uploaded…

    My question is how can I fix this to be better ?
    Does a plugin exist to maybe, create years folders (ie: /2009) inside /uplaods and move all images of 2009 into that new folder AND ALSO correct the images urls into each existing posts and pages ?
