If you view your uploads directory, what do you see? If you do not have command line access, check with and FTP client or via the file manager app in your hosting control panel.

    Thankyou for the reply.
It is shared hosting, no access to control panel
how to check without that ?

Your host does not offer a control panel?

Then try FTP using a client like Filezilla.

    Thankyou
I tried using FTP. It showed a backup in uploads folder. I deleted that
I am using plugin: My Simple Space to see the usage of site
Before it was showing 780 Mb and now 75 MB

But my host says that it is still showing 890 MB with them.
They are saying that there is some problem in site development or coding.
But i have not done any coding.
Theme and plugins have their own coding.
Please can u tell what could be the problem ?

Backups will do that! I store backups off-site because if the site is compromised, so is the backup. I use the plugin backwpup for that and store the backups on Dropbox.

Ask your host what’s using up space. All I can suggest to you is to look through the site via FTP.

Thankyou. I will try using backwpup plugin.

Now I have deleted backups, at my side it is showing 75 MB and at their side 892 MB.
They are saying that you are developing your site, javascript and css are heavy.
But I have not used any coding by myself.

It is possible that in wordpress after adding a theme and some plugins, javascript and css gets heavy ?

just look at the files and see what’s there.

    (@shubhra22)

    all of them ??

Or ask your hosts to explain where their number comes from.

    (@shubhra22)

    ok, thankyou ??
    I ll check

I have check some files. They are in kb

I am not getting 1 point
I am using My simple space plugin to see how much space is my site using. It was showing 780 MB. After i deleted backups n some other data through filezilla, the space reduced to 75 MB.

But my host is saying it is still 890 MB with them.
How is this possible? that with me it is showing less space after deleting and with host it is showing same as before deleting backups.

i have asked them to check trash, they are saying trash is empty.

I have no idea what that plugin does or how it does it. I do not use it.

You need to ASK YOUR HOST where the space is being used.

    Thread Starter shubhra22

    (@shubhra22)

That plugin tell about how much space site is using

I have asked them, nd they are saying that javascript and CSS are heavy.
But i havent done any coding from my side.

They are just saying, see your files, and all coding

    Anyways thankyou very much ??
