I recently upgraded to 3.1.2 and I soon realized that I couldn’t upload images using the icon buttons for uploading photos, videos, media etc. When I click on the icons, a) nothing happens or b) sometimes it’ll open up in my current screen. When it opens in my current window, it let’s me upload the file but it won’t insert it into my post.

I also noticed that I can’t use the link button to create a link in the body of my post either. Not sure what is going on.

What’s interesting though, is that the upload/insert buttons will work in the “quick post” box when you first log into WordPress. Just not in “Post View.” I tried going to an older post to upload an image, and no luck.

    Need help!

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

Deactivating all plugins and activating them one by one worked. THANKS!!
