"function.require" error after site hosting transfer
-
I’m by no means a programmer, nor am I an expert with WP, so I hope I can explain my issue correctly.
I had a blog originally hosted with a company called HostPapa which I later moved to NetFirms because I didn’t care for the service at HostPapa. I asked for all the files I would need to set up my existing blog on my new host. They sent me a folder containing, according to them, my entire user database. I sat on it for months, but recently decided I’d like to re-post my original blog so I uploaded the folder for that blog to my new host. I was hoping it would be as simple as that to get the old site up and running in its new home. Well, everything seemed to upload just fine, but when I tried to launch the site, I got the following messages:
Warning: require(/hermes/bosweb26c/b591/nf.adbook/public_html/accessantarctica/wp-includes/load.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /hermes/bosweb26c/b591/nf.adbook/public_html/accessantarctica/wp-settings.php on line 21
Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/hermes/bosweb26c/b591/nf.adbook/public_html/accessantarctica/wp-includes/load.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/local/lib/php-5.2.17/lib/php’) in /hermes/bosweb26c/b591/nf.adbook/public_html/accessantarctica/wp-settings.php on line 21
You can see these if you try to open https://www.accessantarctica.com. Since I uploaded everything that was in the folder I was sent, and since I couldn’t be farther from a programmer, I have no idea what these errors mean except that it looks like it’s missing some file. Can anyone help me decipher what these errors are trying to tell me and how I might go about fixing them?
I don’t know what hermes or bosweb26c are, but if they are something I can live without to get the basic functionality of the site back up, I’d be willing to circumvent them if that’s possible…
Thanks in advance! And please use small words… ??
