Uploading Word Press

  • Hello,

    Simply trying to upload WordPress into justhost.com
    Once it has finished, the directory path states the site does not exhist. Please help. hookedonscents.wordpress.com

    Are you trying to install WordPress on your hosting account to move away from wordpress.com?

    Yes, so I can upload a theme from studiopress.

    Make sure that you have uploaded the files into the right location. If you need help along the way, refer to the detailed installation instructions. Also, justhost may have an automated WordPress installer, so you may want to ask them about that.

    Once you have WordPress installed, follow this guide to move your wordpress.com blog.

    Been at this for 6 hours now… all i want to do is upload a theme to wordpress. Any suggestions appreciated!

    Thanks. The funny thing is I am using the automated WordPress installer. It asks me to create a directory name. I have tried many different ones, like INDEX… it says it has been created and gives me a admin url like: hookedonscents.wordpress.com/INDEX/wp-admin but the url cant be found?

    The URL should be more like yourdomain.com/index/wp-admin . Since you have your own hosting provider now, it will have nothing to do with wordpress.com.
