uploading videos & photos on bp front end (post)

I assume you mean thumbnail by ‘icons’. The thumbnail support will be added later, but the thing is with PHP we cannot get the thumbnails of Videos and Music, and about Photos, the thumbnails are working correctly as of yet.
For Videos, we will soon be adding it in our premium plugin then might allow it somehow for free and for Music, we’ll be fetching album art works if exists, will serve the thumbnail for it but about your question, “When” that can’t be said for now.
