I know this is stupid questions, but I’m really a novice at this.
How exactly do I upload the plugins to the proper folder?
I’ve tried several things and all can get it to do is to upload to my C drive.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

  • You can use your regular FTP program to copy the plugin(s) from your computer to the plugins folder on your website host. Then the plugin will appear in your dashboard (plugins section) and you can activate it.

Which FTP program are you using? (Or do you use a website to upload?)

Sorry to say…I’m not even sure. That is kind of my question. What FTP and where would I get it so I can upload? I’m just lost on this part.

and have a glance at Managing_Plugins

Are you running your blog on wordpress.com? (I didn’t realise for ages that www.remarpro.com (this site) and wordpress.com are two completely different sites!)

wordpress.com lets you have a WordPress blog, without the complex stuff of setting it all up and running it on your web host. But they only allow certain plugins – you can’t upload any plugin that you want (for security reasons).

www.remarpro.com (this site) lets you download the whole WordPress blog files, and upload it to a web host of your own (just like you do with a web site). You can add any plugins you like, but you have to set it up and run it yourself.

I’m note sure, but I am using it through Yahoo business.
Thank you Moderator….That helped a little….Although it still brings me back to my fundmental question…The instructions always go from unloaded to uploaded, but they don’t tell you they got there.
Now I know….sort of that I need to use a ftp to upload it, but still not sure where I would get that or use it if I had it.

Gotcha. Try this one then: Using_FileZilla

FileZilla is a popular (and free) FTP client. That article will help you get it setup.

That, hopefully, will fill in the missing link with Managing_Plugins — actually getting ’em up to the server.

Thanks so much. I got it after a little trial and error.
    Your the best!
