Uploading non jpeg formats

    There is an indication in the instructions that ‘Force JPEG re-compression’ will ‘convert uploaded GIF and PNG images into JPEG format’ but I have tried both gif and png image uploads and they are not converted into jpegs. So although they are correctly size reduced, they still have quite large file sizes.

    Could you clarify what is possible please.

    Apologies if you’ve read this. This is a feature in active development but is not live yet – perhaps the documentation update had sneaked through a little early. At present, there is no conversion. “Force JPEG re-compression” will only recompress an uploaded JPEG to the quality level you define (assuming it wouldn’t otherwise have been resized). I’ll get the documentation updated until the new version is released soon.
