Uploading my wordpress site

  • Hello everyone, i need some help, i want to upload my site but i cant connect to the remote server. Am using FileZilla Client as my FTP software, i enter all my login details provided by my hosting company but when i click on “Connect or Quick Connect” i get stuck with this error:

    Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message…
    Status: Initializing TLS…

    It might be but i doubt it a binary/file transfer mode issue.
    Are you behind a proxy or direct connection to the web?

    At this stage, it seems and i insist on “seems” you’re not allowed to check password, the next step in a ftp server.

    So, it’s possible ftp port is blocked locally or in between (proxy) on the road to server (remotely). Are you sure port 21 is the good one on server? (not all ftps use 21), it’s a number in filezilla. Does it need authentification?

    In the credentials email the hosting company sent, is there a mention of port or specific ip/subdomain name?

    thanks guys for your response, i informed my hosting provider but they’re not good at responding to clients needs, its a local domain actually,am planning to transfer the hosting to a reliable company.
