uploading multiple images with descriptions from spreadsheet

We have about 200 images, all of them have a description and captions in a worksheet that correspond to the number of the image. We need to build this website for someone who wants to upload all his images at once and the captions to be applied automatically. This site is to be reused once a year to change what the content is and add new captions, this will be easier for him if he can just upload the images and have the captions go along with the images.

I understand that it might not be possible without self-hosting, because we were thinking of using queries of some sort to load the images with their corresponding captions. Can someone provide a document on how to do this, if it is the best option for me? If not, please inform us of a better way to do this.
