• This is driving me crazy. I can’t upload mp3’s and videos. I CAN upload images, but that’s all.

I have searched and searched, but nothing I have found shows the steps I’m going through. When I add a post, I want to upload and add mp3’s and videos to my blog, but no matter what I do, I can’t.

I click on the icon “add video” or “add audio”, but when I click on “publish”, I only get the text. No video, no audio.

I have seen some posts that mention I need an upgrade? But I have plenty of server space. I don’t want to upgrade when I already have a bunch of space on my server.

I just want to know how I can get an inline player to show videos and play mp3’s that I’ve stored on my server.

    Can anyone help? Thanks!

  • Hi,

You need to upgrade your wordpress version not the server space…and also add MIME Types of your audio and Video in order to work it on your blog..

You can add it from the hosting control panel..for more details on that you can contact your hosting service provider.

    Thanks,

Thanks Shane, for you answer. But I don’t understand… Why do I need to pay? My hosting service is giving me nearly a terabyte of space that is going virtually unused and I have to pay extra to WordPress to have them store my video and audio files instead of just putting them on my server space?

One thing I CAN do is upload my files to my own server and link to it from the blog. The only difference that I want is, instead of a link that brings up a blank page with an ugly quicktime player in the middle of it, I just want a small player inline, just like I would get if I were to link to a youtube video. Only difference is that my videos aren’t on youtube, there on my own server space.

Is there really no way of doing that? That just doesn’t make sense…

Also, I’ve got the “audio player” plugin installed and activated. I followed its instructions, but it doesn’t seem to want to do what it says it will do…

Why is this so complicated? LOL

    Same problem.
