• First the apology: I have looked through the forums for a solution to this problem and not been able to resolve it and the associated “sticky.”
    Here goes:
I have two blogs, both using the same theme, both hosted on the same server and both configured exactly the same way. On one of them, I have NO trouble uploading media to a phrase/link on a post (these are generally .pdfs) and it doesn’t matter if I use the Flash Uploader or other. Once it’s uploaded, on the properly working blog A Stern Glance, I see the link in the draft and it posts fine. On the other blog, SREO, these uploads/links just do NOT work. I removed and reinstalled SREO and that didn’t solve the problem.

The blog in question has only Akismet running as a plugin, no other ones and I have tried it with various newer themes (though, as I said, both blogs use the same theme).

Also I look in the appropriate upload folder, only the file names are uploaded as “0” files.

I hope someone can provide some counsel on this issue.

Thank you and again, my apologies if this is a repetitive post/issue.

  • Hi,

    Check with these options:

-> upgrade your wordpress to the latest version
-> assign 766 recursive permissions to wp-contents folder.
-> disable all the plugins and enable it one by one
-> add this code in htaccess:

    SecFilterEngine Off
    SecFilterScanPOST Off

    Thanks,

    Shane G.

I appreciate your help. I did all of that an the blog crashed; well the theme was destroyed and the blog obviously didn’t work. That’s alright, really, as it is relatively “young” and there are not many posts, all of which I “export” following any post to one of my blogs. So, I removed the blog altogether and reinstalled via my hosting service using the “default” WordPress theme. It is now absolutely “fresh” with no plugins.

And, I still can’t upload a .pdf file to a post, via either function provided by WordPress. Any other ideas. The site is https://www.sreoblog.com.

    Thanks.
