Uploading Logo Error

    I am just starting to create my website. I am a beginner which is why I chose WordPress. My hosting is through 1&1 and from there I uploaded WP. From there I proceeded to upload the theme I purchased (Clockstone-CMS Masters). Now as I try to upload my logo onto the site I get this message:

    Error 500 – Internal server error
    An internal server error has occured!
    Please try again later.
    ” alt=”” />

    I have tried several times over the last week and a half with no luck. I contacted 1&1 and they said it is either an issue with WP or my theme. Any help you can give would be great.

    If it’s a problem with the theme, we won’t be able to help you since it’s a commercial theme and therefore we can’t see the code. You’ll need to contact the developers.

    Having said that, I’m not exactly certain I’ve understood everything you’ve said. So here are a couple of questions:

    • Did you get WordPress installed and running OK with the default theme and sample pages?
    • Did WordPress continue to work OK after you’d installed and activated your theme?
    • Is the logo upload something in your theme’s configuration? Or is it something different.

    Your answers might at least enable us to suggest whether the problem appears to be with the theme, or whether there’s something else going on.
