uploading item into WP folder

Hi forum.

Id like to upload some items on my WP site, and Id like to know if this would be the correct location for my zip files, doing so via FTP server. What Id like is for visitors to be able to click on the zip file link and download the item. So are these links automatically generated while uploaded the items into the WP folder?
