Uploading images suddenly being weird

All of the sudden today, I can’t upload any images. From a page, I try to upload a single image (tried 2 different ones) it gets to 100%, and then the popup goes totally white, with no data on the screen. I can still close it out, but nothing shows up in gallery for that page, or in media.

If I try to upload two files at once, first one gets to 100%, second one never starts.

Tried from the insert button on the page editor, and from the upload new media button in the media section. Same results.

Tried from both Chrome, and IE. Same results.

Finally broke down, and used the “browser uploader” — everything works until I click “Insert Into Post” – when it then reloads my main homepage into the popup uploader window. Nothing is ever inserted into my page. I can literally browse my site from within this small popup window.
