That sounds like a server configuration issue. Have you spoken to your hosts about it?

hello esmi, working on it now. i didn’t mention the site was down yesterday for server maintenance and the reason down was it was reset into read-only mode. they said they fixed and rebooted and then said … We would recommend you review your files to ensure that there was no file corruption due to storage interruption.

i looked over wp forum and it mentions create a tmp folder in root and fix php.ini. i just gave that info to host. i have complete access to my server if needed.

here’s what my host said (they have hosted my wp sites since 2007)

    >The PHP.ini files is available here: /usr/local/lib/php.ini but not sure what to code.
    >Adding the .tmp into WordPress was different than I expected. The wordpress files are available in /home/usr/www, but I am afraid we are not sure where to create that .tmp file as we are not trained with WordPress.

here’s what i found and i sent to them. does this sound like a good suggestion?

note: i have found a tmp folder at same level as public_html so thinking a missing folder, literally, is not the issue.

don’t know if this is a new thread or not but i can’t save tags either. i can list them but when i go to save they disappear. any thoughts. ty.

this is not a bump but an update. disregard the can’t save tags mentioned earlier. data has been lost, tags, categories, and more not in database.

research produces four links that say the same thing differently and that is as esmi says, i think, this is not a wp issue. i’ve given the following links to my host and hired someone from the link provided above. promise to share solution when done.

3.7.1 is still humming after host rebuilt server thru the night. no one is sure what went wrong but it took two rebuilds so it seems my particular issue was the server. what was learned is the missing temp file error is pretty common and 90% of the time something is broken before it trickles to wordpress. knowing what to look for and what to tell host is helpful. you can tell the host it’s usually a php upload issue. there are good suggestions in the links above. my host read them and was prepared to pursue suggestions mentioned in above links. i also sent links to a person i was prepared to hire if they understood the issue and felt they knew how to try several options.

my host did more than rebuild the server. he did work specifically on the upload problem. in his words… The journal repair completed successfully, and I was also able to identify and repair an issue with the /tmp folder (which was a loop-back mount).

My site got down yesterday , it shows some error like get_field missing error , and my site is not showing two page properly which is used advance custome field , and i enter into admin panel i see that my every plugin are deactivated , so i activated every plugin and check the site , the site now load those two page which shows me the error but now i am facing the images which are added through the custome fields is not showing up but the default content area which are in the post are showing my content but my custome field added details are not showing up , can some one help me for this issue will be very thankfull for this .
