• Hello, I have trouble uploading images. Whenever I upload an image, it gives me an error saying ‘Unable to create directory wp-content/uploads/2014/07. Is its parent directory writable by the server?’
What does this mean? What do I have to do to fix this problem?
    Please help me~

Try changing the permissions of the /wp-content/uploads/ directory to 777.

Thank you James for your reply. But how do I change the permissions to 777? Do you know any link that shows a list of instructions that could lead me through?

    Hello,

You need access to cpanel to change the permission for any folders.

Here are the steps you can follow

@site123, to highlight the advice I’ve given to you on a previous thread, you need to stop linking people outside the forums unnecessarily.
I’ll post the content of that Webpage you linked right into this support thread, as there is no reason not to:

To change the permission of the folder, follow the steps below…

    Go to your cpanel

    Click on file manager

select your domain and click go

    select wp-content folder

now on the top tab you should see button “permission”

Click on it and change permission to 777.

    Refresh the page.

sure. I will keep that in mind. Thank you!

And, if that doesn’t work for you, just follow the guide I linked to in my first reply. ??
