  • Two possible ways to upload:

    1. In WordPress 2.0, under the Manage->Posts->edit any post (or Write->Post), in the Upload section at the bottom of the screen, you can upload any file. That file doesn’t necessarily have to be related to a Post. Then you can link to that file in a Post or put it into one of your Links (Links->Add Link). Just hover over the file in the Upload, Browse All tab, and right click to copy the link location.

    2. Or, you could use an FTP Client, such as FileZilla, to upload your files to your web-site. Then just link to that file in a Post or in one of your Links (Links->Add Links)

Thanks alot , but if i have domain for example like cnn.com and i want to open a path like cnn.com/mp3 how can i do that and to upload my files there ?
    any idea ?

Since you want to ‘control’ the destination of the file, use an FTP Client to do that.

Uploads done via the Write->Post mechanism will put the files in the wp-content/uploads/2006/01 folder. Of course, the 2006/01 is the current year and month.

The next version of WordPress, right now called 2.0.1-alpha, will add back the option to designate the folder for uploads.

    MichaelH, Hi again
i did not get it last nigt about :—> “Uploads done via the Write->Post mechanism will put the files in the wp-content/uploads/2006/01 folder. Of course, the 2006/01 is the current year and month.”

i just wanted to upload files like “mp3” for example into a link for example : https://www.cnn.com/mp3

i just wanted to know how to create “/mp3”

    Thanks again.

Creating a directory with FileZilla is explained in this Codex article (in the Uploading files section): Uploading_WordPress_to_a_remote_host

I can upload a file but I dont get a Browse All tab after. The file gets uploaded.

EDIT: Found out that it won’t insert into the database. Anyone know why?
