• whenever i upload audio files of more than 8mb ,wordpress will prompt a too big file size and i cannot continue to upload the audio file.
But the default setting of wordpress is 20mb .
So why i cant upload an audio file of more than 8mb.

  • Why don’t you just upload via FTP?

Done that but after uploading ,the uploaded audio file is not listed inside or appeared inside the WordPress media library. Which mean i can’t post the audio file to my website.
    Thanks

Both upload_max_filesize and post_max_size control how big a file you can upload. The smaller wins. WordPress doesn’t tell you about post_max_size (it’s a minor oversight that will be fixed eventually).

You’ll have to ask your web host how to increase both of those values to let you upload bigger files.

Interesting.I gave up on media uploading- the file transferred from my end but didn’t end in the media library, so I ftp’d it and made a link. It WAS over 8M so perhaps was the same problem. (WP 2.5)
