• I’ve created a WordPress blog using WAMP (i.e. locally on my computer, not online). I now want to upload it all to my server (i.e. get it online), but I can’t work out how.

It would be easy enough to upload just the theme (copy & paste to the right folder) but I want to upload the entire blog because I have written content for a dozen or so pages.

Does anyone know how this can be done?

    Many thanks,

    Tom

The basic Moving WordPress directions hold true.

You’ll need, in this case, to change the blog address to your domain name, so that the database gets updated. Then you should be able to export the sql DB from WAMP and upload it to your server with something like phpMyAdmin.

What SQL tools do you have on WAMP? I know phpMyAdmin comes with MAMP.

Ipstenu, sorry for slow reply and thanks very much.

Shortly after your reply I worked out that all I need to do is export the database from the Tools menu, and import it again in the other blog. All very easy! I don’t know why I didn’t spot it before.

    Thanks again,
    Tom
