• Hello everyone,

My blog suffers from Mixed Content problem, namely one of the images address is http and not https.

Earlier today I installed the plugin Better Search Replace to replace other addresses with http to https, and it did so successfully, except for that one address it cannot find. This image address refers to an image I uploaded using the plugin Beaver Builder.

So I used this plugin to upload a new image, but the native image uploader of WordPress shows me that the new link of the new image I just uploaded will still use http.

What can I do in order to change the address of that image to https? Again, the plugin Better Search Replace doesn’t find that address (probably it’s stored in a CSS file, that I couldn’t track either); and replacing that image will still generate an address with http for some reason.

    I’m a bit lost.
Thank you very much for your help in advance

  • The problematic image is indeed stored in a CSS file generated by Beaver Builder, that’s why the “Better Search Replace” plugin could not find and replace it (you can click on the image to view a larger version):

I’ll suggest you ask the Beaver Builder plugin developers how to deal with this. If you’re using the free “Lite” version of the plugin, here’s the support forum for it:

If you’re using the PAID version, here’s their support forum:

    Good luck!

Hello George thank you very much for your answer

I’m using the paid version but for support I will have to pay around 100$ which is difficult for me to pay just for solving this one problem

I do know how to replace that problematic image, but I just don’t understand why WordPress saves the new image with http instead of https. Is there a way around it? I’m just assuming the issue of WordPress generating an address with http isn’t related to Beaver Builder.

    Thanks!

    Wow!

I’m just assuming the issue of WordPress generating an address with http isn’t related to Beaver Builder.

Here’s a simple test: upload an image using the native WordPress media library. The result should tell you where the problem lies.

I do know how to replace that problematic image, but I just don’t understand why WordPress saves the new image with http instead of https.

Here’s a quick thought: if you previously re-uploaded the image with the SAME FILE NAME as the original image (before switching to HTTPS), try to re-upload with a different file name and let’s see what will happen.

Hey George I solved it thanks a lot!

That’s very strange, I did as you suggested, I uploaded an image using the native WordPress media library and saw that the new generated address was still with http. But then I thought it was strange because the blog is having new posts with images regularly but Google Chrome did not complain about them.

So I reuploaded the image related to the Beaver Builder theme, and even though it should have been uploaded with http address, I guess it’s with https because now Chrome doesn’t complain anymore.

Not sure why it’s like this, maybe a bug?

Anyway now it’s working and thanks a lot for your help!
    Have a nice weekend!
