Uploading a Custom Header in WP 3 is Not Working

Uploading a custom header in WordPress 3 is not working.

It looks like this is also an issue for others based on recent forum posts.

Appearance -> Header -> Upload Image -> Browse -> Upload

This puts the header image in this path:

…/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/misty.jpg
(File URL – location of the uploaded file)

And it should be uploading here:

…/wp-content/themes/mistylook/img/misty.jpg

As a result, I now have to name my custom header the same name as the theme’s header – in this case misty.jpg – then upload it in cPanel to the correct path.

It is not an issue with the theme – it is an issue with WordPress 3.

If you can correct this, uploading a custom header will work automatically.
