• This plugin is great but I am moving my videos from youtube to my own server, and I realized that this plugin doesn’t really support self-hosted videos on wordpress (videos within the ‘video’ tag I mean).

They do load in fancybox, but fancybox doesn’t try to guess the size of the video or maximize it, instead it just opens at its maximum with the video floating in the middle.
    Does anybody know a workaround??

  • Hi, Fancybox is not a media player but you could use the lightbox to embed one (this is what is actually happening with youtube videos where the youtube iframe player is used) … Here are step-by-step instructions on how you could use the JW Player: https://demo.status301.net/easy-fancybox-sandbox/boxed-jw-player

RavanH, thanks for the reply! however, jwPlayer is not an option since I would have to buy the premium version to make it work in a responsive way.

Besides I use fancybox directly from the homepage, and would have to rewrite all my functions to load a custom player. I’d rather use the <video> tags and give the user the standard html5 experience.

I’m not asking you to write a media player, all I would like would be for the iframe to change its size dynamically, or at least responding to my input, case by case.

I want to point out that I managed to add to fancybox: a link to print the picture; a link to the actual post, with a count of the comments. But I cannot figure out this one. ??

Hi, can you share a link? I can give you some tips or an alternative perhaps…

Hey, I’d be happy to but not publicly, it’s a family website off the google grid, I looked in your profile but couldn’t find an email.

My email is in the plugin header or you can go to https://status301.net/contact-en/
