When I try to replace the header image with my logo, I can upload a file, but it will not appear in the crop tool. Images that were already with the theme are fine. My understanding is that the crop tool is not able to find the newly uploaded files.

I am running on my local computer to test everything before publishing. I have a couple of screen shots:

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/id9jm0qn80ybvvj/croppingimage.jpg?dl=0

I am using firefox, but when I use IE I can see a small black image X (the browser’s image not found icon, not the image I created).

I am using the latest versions of Genesis and the centric-pro child theme. But I’ve switched to 2016, 2015, 2014 and I have the same problem no matter what theme I use. I also disabled all plugins. I rebooted my computer. Still cannot get the crop tool to find my uploaded images.

At one point when I was clicking back and forth through the site I got a message like, “You are trying to edit an image that does not exist.” But the image is clearly there in the media viewer, and it is on the file system.

I am relatively new to WP and I have no idea why this might be happening. Seems like a bug to me, but seems problematic enough that it would have been fixed by now.

Any ideas or can I provide any further information or screen shots?
