BLUF: Files that I’ve uploaded TO THE MAIN BLOG are missing when I go look for them: 404 error if I try to direct link, empty folder if I ftp in. Sub-blogs appear to be working fine.

    Background:
WP 3.0 set up for multiple blogs using subdirectories.

I’m assuming that I’ve fat fingered an option or 5 in SupearAdmin => Sites => Edit. Where can I find what they are supposed to be? Or at least what the upload paths are supposed to point to?

    Thanks!

  • Upload paths are supposed to be –

    – wp-content/blogs.dir/xx/files/permalink-structure (e.g. year/month/)
where xx = blog ID number

That’s how they’ll appear in file manager – in per blog settings from super admin, they’ll appear as just wp-content/blogs.dir/xx/files/ and your permalink structure will be concatenated onto that.

    Gaz

Actually, if you started from a single WP install then activated the network, the uploads just for the main blog are still in the usual /uploads/ folder by default.

Solution: double check that you’ve changed all of the URLs. Doh!
