Upload to Where?

The instructions say: “Upload Everything”. OK, upload them to where? I know I should upload them to my site but does it require a specific folder? Do I upload some to the root and others to another directory? Do I create a folder called, “WP” and put everything in there? Would it look like:
https://ftp.myhomepage.com/wp
or
https://ftp.myhomepage.com/public_html/wp
