Upload to separate gallery based on EXIF data?

I want to use Nextgen Public Uploader to allow users to upload images, but I need to go a step further pull EXIF data — mainly date taken. Then, based on date I want the uploader to place that image in a January gallery, February, etc…
Any suggestions on how to accomplish this?
