Alright, I’m sure this is a dumb question but I downloaded this plugin to attempt to have a faster page load for our photography blog posts. I initially assumed that this plugin would allow for me to upload the smaller resolution for faster page loads and only generate the retina when needed.

Am I way off here? Do I upload the retina size (1738px wide) or regular (869px)? It’s really important for us as a photography site to have both the images looking the way we want and to have as fast a page load for the blog as we can! ?? Thanks! I read the tutorial and I’m still confused so any help would be appreciated.

Actually it’s the contrary ?? By default you should have image sized for a normal screen. Then to have them to look better, the Retina plugin comes on top and load bigger images. So it wouldn’t make your website faster ??

You should upload images to your Media Library normally. The biggest image you can. WP sizes your images. Your theme, if it’s a bad one, use those sizes created by WordPress. It’s optimized already. Then the Retina plugin adds support for the Retina screens ??
