• Problem: ‘Upload media’ button not working; ‘Featured image’ link not woking
    What happens when I click them? Nothing

    Installation: WordPress 3.3.1, fresh upload, new site
    Affected themes: TwentyTen, TwentyEleven, among others
    Plugins: None installed or active
    Browser: Firefox 10.0.2

    Observations:

    If I scroll down far to the bottom of the page, I see a small corner of the ‘Upload media’ pop-up window on the left side. I cannot scroll any further left. In other words, the pop-up window is appearing far outside the viewable area of the screen, and it is inaccessible.

    Also, in the web developer console in Firefox, many errors appear when I click on ‘Upload media’ that are associated with color-fresh.css in wp-admin. (Example: “Error in parsing value for ‘white-space.’ Declaration dropped.”)

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • I’m having the same issue.

    I’ve disabled all plugins and switched themes. I have also tried clearing my cache and doing a hard refresh (Ctrl – F5). This problems is happening in IE, Firefox and Chrome.

    @wp-sleuth: Try re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

    @emsi: Thank you. I uploaded my files again using a different method. I originally used FTP. I also changed my file permissions from 644 to 755. This resolved the problem.

    @jbiggs77: I am always glad to know when I’m not the only one facing a particular problem. Thanks.

    @jbiggs77:

    I used a program offered through my hosting service to access my web directories and uploaded files one-by-one (ugh), but I think anything other than Windows FTP might make a difference. I changed the file permissions in the wp-admin and wp-includes directories, particularly files in the js and css folders.
