Upload media from Google Drive link

I’d like to be able to upload media by entering a Google Drive link into the Insert URL box on the media page. When I enter a Google Drive link it that box, either the short version of the full version, it simply inserts the link into the post. I’d like it to insert the image to which the link points, in the same way that it does with other image urls.
