    Hi

I am using your plugin which I think is very useful. However I have found that that I now can’t upload media files via the add media button in any page or in any post.

When I am in a page or post and I click on select files and then select the image to upload I get the progress bar on the image upload but it only just starts along the bar and then freezes. The file never uploads.

I can still seem to add media via the normal Add New option of the Media Sidebar Tab. However I want to add media in a page or post and not by other means. Is there a way to fix this?

I did try to deactivate and then reactivate the plugin but this made no difference other than the fact that when I had deactivated the Plugin and then tried to add media again all the media had disappeared although if I looked in the normal media screen they were all there. Seems like I have to have this plugin activated anyway to see all the media.

Anyway if you could help me with this issue then that would be great.

    Kind Regards
    Neil

Thanks for your feedback and for this report. I want to make sure I understand what you are doing so I can try to reproduce your symptoms.

You wrote “When I am in a page or post and I click on select files“, what exactly do you click on? Do you mean you click “Add Media” to get the Media Manager popup window, then “Upload Files” and then “Select Files”? That’s the only way to get to a “Select Files” button that I can find.

You wrote “when I had deactivated the Plugin and then tried to add media again all the media had disappeared“. Do you mean that media are no longer displayed in the Media Manager popup window?

I have re-tested all the ways to upload files with the Media Manager popup window I can find and have not had a problem. When MLA is deactivated, I can’t think of any way it could affect the operation of the Media Manager popup window. It sounds like some sort of JavaScript problem, perhaps involving another plugin. If you have other media-related plugins you can try deactivating them and re-testing.

You can also try disabling the MLA Media Manager Enhancements to see if the uploading problem goes away. Go to the Settings/Media Library Manager General tab and scroll down to the “Media Manager/Media Grid Enhancements” section. Uncheck the boxes for “Enable Media Grid Enhancements” and “Enable Media Manager Enhancements”, then scroll to the bottom and click “Save Changes”. With those options turned off there should be no interaction with the Media Manager popup window at all.

Please try the above experiments and give me any additional information you can. If I can reproduce your symptoms I can give you more specific help. Thanks for your understanding and your interest in the plugin.

    Hi David

Thanks for the quick response. I have had a quick look your suggestions. I will have more time tonight.

However if I uncheck the “Enable Media Grid Enhancements” and “Enable Media Manager Enhancements” boxes and try uploading again from a Page or Post (via Add Media) then this works ok. However on the Media Library tab “No Items Are Found”. In other words no media is shown on the screen. If I look in the Media Library from the main WordPress screen then all the media is there!

Regarding … You wrote “When I am in a page or post and I click on select files”, what exactly do you click on? Do you mean you click “Add Media” to get the Media Manager popup window, then “Upload Files” and then “Select Files”? That’s the only way to get to a “Select Files” button that I can find. … the answer is yes.

Regarding … You wrote “when I had deactivated the Plugin and then tried to add media again all the media had disappeared”. Do you mean that media are no longer displayed in the Media Manager popup window? … the answer is yes.

I will provide more info after I have done some more testing tonight.

    Kind Regards
    Neil

    Hi David

I have sorted it. It was another Plugin causing the problem. The Plugin was Enhanced Media Library by wpUXsolutions which I have now deactivated. I had tested this Plugin but in the end I decided not to use it. I guess it is useful to known that the two do not work together.

Thanks for your help. I will now give you a good review. Keep up the good work!!

    Kind Regards
    Neil
