Upload large files

    I want to upload some videos but my host has a 2MB limit. I know I can upload via FTP and am doing that. Is there any way to get these to be recognized by the Media Manager?
    Or is there any way to upload to a temp directory and have WordPress import the files as Gallery2 does?
