upload images to folder

I am using wordpress 3.1 and need to upload images which should be saved in a seperate folder and the info should also saved in database or i can say there should be a database table to contain the images information is there any plugin which can do this task or any method to do this.
i can use gallery also if any light weight gallery do this task ….
