• Can I upload html pages to a folder in my WordPress site? If so, which folder do I put them in?

I am replacing an old HTML site with a new WordPress site, but for a while I would like the old site to be accessible from the new one, like a link on the new WordPress homepage that says “click here to view our old site” and then users can browse the entire old HTML site. I would rather not host the HTML site in a separate account if it is possible to host it in the same one as the WordPress site.

  • Best practices dictate not having a development environment live to the world for a host of reasons.

If possible, set up a local dev area. This is ideally done with a server, but you could use wamp too. That way you can freely work on your wordpress site.
