• I recently updated my wordpress on my website and ever since, my Upload Files page no longer has the button on it that opens the file picker so I can upload directly to posts and if I try to drag pictures into the media library there, the images never upload.

I can still upload to the media library on the media library page so that’s what I’ve switched to using but it’s pretty inconvenient, but I don’t really know what to do to fix this. Anyone have any ideas?

This is what it looks like now. The upload file tab doesn’t even get highlighted.

This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and switch to the default Twenty Nineteen theme. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of the problem.

If you can install plugins, install Health Check. On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site.

I am getting the same problem as this after an update. I have gone back to a standard theme and disabled all plugins but the problem remains. Did you find a solution?

    Hi

I’ve been experiencing the same issue for quite a while also. Any luck on a solution?

    Cheers

Same here. This has been a problem for some time, and it’s quite serious and discouraging for new website developers. This is a basic, basic operation that NEEDS to work.

Enhanced Media Library was the culprit of this issue for me.

Yes EML plugin was the problem for me too! Apparently, the EML plugin is no longer supported. My guess is that it’s no longer compatible with newer WP builds.

Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin was helpful in isolating the problem plugin.

    Cheers

The Enhanced Media Library plugin was the problem for me too.

The Enhance Media Library plugin was causing the error.
Deactivating the plugin was enough to make the upload functionality work again.
