• while adding an upload button I’m getting a red warning message “Cannot create folder /” with some technical info beginning with “is_dir() [function.is-dir]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/) is not within the allowed path(s):” The same message appears later on my website above the contact form.” How can I fix this problem?

  • Same problem on my site using easy contact forms. Assume, the rights of the folder in which the plugin wants to create a subfolder needs to be 777. But: In which directory does the plugin try to create the /files folder?

have the same problem. is there anyone with a solution?

After numerous attempts I finally gave up and installed Contact Form 7 with the upload button working great! In comparison with Easy Contact form the CF7 is much more managable and user-friendly (even though it seems less customizable) – it took me 5 minutes to create a contact form I spent entire day creating in CF7. Recommend to all of you!

Contact Form 7 is ok in terms of functionality, however not compatible with the latest WordPress Version! I had conflicts between CF7 and the Download Manager, Download Monitor, and WP-Filebase plugins. For this reason I switched to Easy Contact.
