• Hi-

I’m experiencing Fatal Error messages like this:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 20 bytes) in /home/content/44/9728844/html/wp-content/plugins/catablog/lib/CataBlogItem.class.php on line 788

    Notes
    ? It doesn’t matter the file size… I’ve tried 97k, 87k, 26K.
? My database is not full, according to my hosting folks.
? It has been verified that it is not an upload or memory issue with Php or the server in which the WordPress installation resides.
? even though I receive this error message, Catablog still creates the item, minus the thumbnail- and the item renders on the correct page, but with a broken thumbnail image. Clicking on the broken image brings up the full image, however.
? first time I’ve seen this issue in 2-3 years.

    Any thoughts?

Moreover- I disabled all plugins (but catablog), just in case. This didn’t yield any results either.

Hi ChadAustin how much memory have you allocated to your website?

    Hi, is your issue resolved?

Hi- I tried 512mb in the wp-config.php file… still does it.

So, no, it is not resolved.

What wordpress version are you running? Did you by any chance update the theme?

I keep WordPress updated at all times, as well as the theme. The theme is a child of twenty-eleven.

we’re supposedly updating the theme this year with “X-theme” by theme.co

Can you disable all your other plugins except this one and carry out another test? Did you speak to your host about this issue? I think some settings in the server need to be addressed. I have been running this plugin in some of my clients websites for a few years now without any issues.

    I appreciate your assistance, btw.

I’ve disabled all the plugin more than a few times- both through FTP and deactivation within the WP dashboard.

I’m using GoDaddy shared hosting. I’ve been on the phone with them about this several times- mostly to find out about the Php memory allocations and such. As much as I love GoDaddy (I’m a reseller) they’re a little limited on their phone support when it comes to trouble-shooting hosting issues. I still sing their praises, though.

I’m hoping when this client allows me to update their site to fit the new Mobilegeddan movement, that I can get their hosting on cPanel and perhaps that will change everything.

Hi, yes that will help once you get your client on CPanel. Because the error above refers to a memory limit issue.
