    Hi there,

I’ve got a competition running here but it seems that some users are having a problem uploading their pictures. I tested it when we started it, and it was fine, but now uploaders are getting the message:

    “Plz don’t fiddle the upload.”

I’ve re-tested, and I’m seeing that on clean versions (no cookies) of Chrome and Firefox.

Also, when I publish a gallery, it seems to break the theme (TwentyEleven) – the background colour of the centre block is gone, and text breaks outside of the column on posts older than the gallery.

Are you able to suggest a fix, please?

    Hi Wasiliy,

I’ve had to take it down as it wasn’t working properly. I like the plugin, but it does seem a bit buggy – when’s your next update, I’ll be happy to test it again after that.

    Thanks

    Wasiliy,

I’m not sure the update fixed the upload problem. I’ve discovered that if I’m logged into the WP site then uploads are successful, but using a non-logged in browser (Chrome, Firefox) or an incognito window (Chrome) gives me the ‘plz don’t fiddle the upload’ message. The upload isn’t exceeding any limits.

The form is at https://blog.fishtec.co.uk/show-us-your-flies-picture-competition (but it’s set to display:none; at the moment – you can find it with the inspector.

The other odd thing to mention is that the gallery posted on its own on the page breaks all subsequent formatting on the page – including when that page is the front page of the blog. However, including the upload shortcode (even if it’s set to display:none;) appears to resolve that issue.

The upload issue is a real problem – are there any IP restrictions, or other restrictions that could be causing the upload to fail?

    Thanks

    Hello,

    thank you for precise description.

    I investigated your site:

There are some Jquery error that seems not to be cause by plugin
    https://screencast.com/t/R3TxhFJqg

Could you put the upload form to a blank page only plz?
And then give me the link so i can test it?

You can also write to me via [email protected] if it’s better for you relating sending links of your page.

I hope it can be resolved.

btw: normally it’s possible to put text and gallery sortcode on one page and upload form also. Here an example: https://www.contest-gallery.com/panorama-photo-contest/
<<< if you could me provide the page where the shortcode of gallery breaks the contet it would be very fine of you.

    Best regards

    Wasiliy

    Hi Wasiliy,

Thanks for your reply. Based on your response, I’ll do a bit more research here.

Also, I may well be in touch via email for some more in-depth reporting. I notice that the mobile experience is quite slow, so I’ll do a bit of closer research when I get some time and send you that.

It’s worth noting that I said that when the gallery and the upload form are both present on the page, styling isn’t an issue, but when it’s just the gallery, that’s when styling breaks. I hope to be able to present you with examples soon.

    Best,

    Mal
