I made a backup with Updraft and I have all of the downloaded backup files on my local pc; plugins, uploads, others, and themes. When I try to restore the backup I made it gives me an error so I go to upload the files above and for some reason, it changes nothing on the actual site. The plugins don’t come back, the theme is broken… what is happening? Help! I can provide any additional information about the site or log files if requested.

Hi,

The log shows: 0009.044 () Error message: Could not move the files into place. Check your file permissions.0009.044 () Error data (move_failed): (2) /srv/htdocs/wp-content/upgrade/cef45af4/plugins/layout-grid -> /srv/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/layout-grid0009.044 () Restore failed

Can you make sure that UpdraftPlus and WordPress has the correct file permission. The following article on Smashing Magazine is a good guide as to the file permissions/ownerships that are required for WordPress: https://www.smashingmagazine.com/2014/05/proper-wordpress-filesystem-permissions-ownerships/#file-and-folder-ownership-for-wordpress

Also, check that there is more than enough space for the files to be restored.
