I purchased a plugin from CodeCanyon called SliderPro. I downloaded to my desktop and then tried to upload to Word Press. It would not load and gave me this error message:

    Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Please advise on how to load this plugin!!

Have you tried contacting the plugin author at CodeCanyon? Unfortunately, premium plugins aren’t supported in the WordPress forums.

Nonetheless, many plugins from premium sources will need to be unzipped on your desktop first as they often include additional files (including sample data and instructions) and then the plugin zip file that you need to upload may be in the unzipped folder.

I would definitely suggest contacting the author if you are unable to get the plugin to upload correctly.

    Good luck!

I purchased a plugin from CodeCanyon called SliderPro.

The commercial nature of the plugin requires that support be requested through the available support channels offered by the developer at the point of purchase.

In this case, simply visiting the CodeCanyon Slider Pro page and clicking “screencasts” will offer you a video tutorial entitled: “Installing the plugin”.

Thank you for the information! I followed the video instructions and received the following error. This is probably a developer issue. Support with them is not very good. Thanks for your help!

The uploaded file exceeds the upload_max_filesize directive in php.ini.

This error usually has to do with your server configuration. Have you tried uploading the plugin manually using an FTP program like FileZilla? If you’ve never done it before, the Codex has great instructions:

    Thank you for the information!

I am new to this. Can you tell me where to find this area in my admin site?

“With your FTP program, upload the Plugin folder to the wp-content/plugins folder in your WordPress directory online”

Also, when you extract, it opens up into other folders. Do you move each of them manually to the plugin directory?

FTP is a program to connect to your website files outside of WordPress. If you’ve never used FTP before, then manually updating the plugin may not be the solution for you.

    This error:

The uploaded file exceeds the upload_max_filesize directive in php.ini.

indicates that your hosting company has limits on the max upload size through php. I had suggested using FTP in order to get around uploading the plugin via php, however, since you’re not familiar with FTP, I would again suggest requesting help from the commercial Plugin author.
