Upgrading to PHP 8.0 Breaks the “Basic” Theme

  • We updated to PHP 8.0 and the theme broke completely (it throws a “critical error” and simply won’t load anything other than the main menu.

  • Have you managed to fix it yet? I’ve mentioned it to our webmaster and hope he hasn’t got auto update on!

    @sianeliz – It appears to be working for us now. I have no idea what has changed, as the theme was not updated and we didn’t update anything else. I did notice a minor release of PHP 8 was auto-installed on our server (WP Engine is our host) so perhaps that fixed it.

    Ah excellent, had me worried. Hope yours stays ok.
