Upgrading to 2.3.1

    Presently using 2.2.1

    problem is, I installed WP via CPanel on my host. Can anyone explain to me how to upgrade to the latest version, or do you suggest waiting until it is available via CPanel, or ask my host?

    You can’t use FTP? Otherwise, install the new version the same way as you did the old. Also with FTP it’s a matter of overwriting and then install again.

    You can follow the upgrade procedure (Upgrading WordPress Extended) even if your installation orginated via Fantastico.

    Please follow the instructions in WordPress Backups before proceeding.

    Note: if I remember, my host (or the Fantastico people) only made the 2.3 series available when 2.3.1 was released.
