gredaki – yes you can. Is this still an issue ?

I have just tried to upgrade, I followed all the directions, went to:
/wp-admin/upgrade.php … got my “SUCCESS” message, but now I’m getting an error saying my wp-config file is wrong, / or WP cannot access my DB.

I am really frustrated, and don’t know what I’ve done wrong? My photoblog runs off the same DB (always has) and I’ve had no problems, … My P-Blog is working fine.

    What shall I do??

When you deleted the old files did you keep your wp-config file? Do you have now a correct wp-config file in your blog’s root directory?

Hi moshu, … yes, I kept my wp-config file, and yes it’s in my blog’s root directory. ….

<s>I am really tempted to delete the whole thing, go to my C panel, do a new install of the older version, and upgrade again immediately. I backed-up the whole server last night. Maybe I should create a new data base. (???)</s>
I did it. Uninstalled whatever was in my Blog folder, but in doing so, I have also lost my photoblog. I could tear my hair out!

Have you downloaded and checked inside the wp-config file ?

yes podz, I had done that …
My C-panel does an auto install of an older version and I was just about to do that. I have everything backed up on my hard drive, … how should I continue? … (All this so I could use a “theme”)

The good thing is if I get it running is that I wanted to use WP for both, … which I guess would require multiple installations? … I a sucker for punishment!! ??

This is odd because every time your blog is viewed/used, the information in the config file is used. So if the upgrade went well, but then it just went wrong, that suggests something else has gone wrong.

I’m uploading the upgrade again now.

I opened the config-sample file in notepad, and I put in the correct info for the DB, … now do I upload it as “sample” and rename it on the server side?

… so, …. I went to /wp-admin/upgrade.php got my “SUCCESS” message, clicked on have fun, and there is a blank white screen where my blog should be …. (I think I’m going to cry)

It doesn’t actually matter – so long as it’s called wp-config.php in the end ??

… do you have any idea how I can get my Photoblog back? What happened to my DB, …. it must still be there right?
