Upgrading MySQL 5.6 to MariaDB 10.3

I am running PHP7.3 on this and want to upgrade from Mysql 5.6 to MariaDB 10.3. How problematic is this going to be? The site is on Bluehost VPS and all I get as a response from them is “you can do that via WHM but we don’t offer any support”. That’s not a promising support response. Any here have experience with this and can tell me if it’s as difficult as Bluehost seems to think?
