Upgrading my PHP configuration on Bluehost

Can’t seem to get my PHP upgrade to work. My WordPress website told me I can’t update to new version of WordPress bec I need to upgrade my PHP configuration. I followed the simpleinstructions given for that by my host, Bluehost (ie, go to cpanel > PHP configuration, etc) and clicked on the PHP 7.3 option and pressed “Save Changes.” After that, I get a window saying “Configuration Saved and New php.ini created” but when I go to my WordPress site, it still tells me that I need to upgrate my PHP configuration. What am I doing wrong? or not doing? I went thru this PHP routine several times with no luck.
