Are there any specific instructions on how to do this?
Thanks

Is there any plan to reorganise the file structure of WordPress in the future? Even minor upgrades seem more than a little intimidating to perform when ensuring that all the customised files are preserved and the app files are overwritten.
I’d love to see things reorganised into something like two distinct folders – one for user content (plugins, language files, images, etc) and one for back-end application files that don’t get edited by the user. Then every upgrade would be a case of replacing the app folder.
Yesterday (after upgrading to v.2.0.2.) I wrote:
“I have a problem! My visual rich editor is gone!
All I have now is an ol’school text editor.
Anyone?!”Well.. Today I finally solved my problem by deleting ALL wp-files on my server and then re-installed WordPress again from scratch. (By doing that, I was forced to delete the sql data base, but fortunatly I was able to back it up first.)
That did the trick: I now again have my rich editor! Great!!
ran upgrade.php, got my see-it-everytime-I-update, white screen
starting over with a new blog, again
I am getting a weird error. It’s not preventing me from posting, but it happens every time after I post, or after I make an edit to a post:
WordPress database error: [Lost connection to MySQL server during query]
INSERT INTO wp_postmeta (post_id,meta_key,meta_value) VALUES (‘241′,’_pingme’,’1′)Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/content/s/a/v/sav2880/html/blog/wp-includes/wp-db.php:102) in /home/content/s/a/v/sav2880/html/blog/wp-admin/post.php on line 122
I followed the directions exactly and in fact re-followed the upgrade directions to attempt to fix this error in 2.0.1 making sure that all the right files got overwritten.
Any ideas?
I’m getting pretty good at this, 29 minutes and I’m back (plugins & stylesheet), not exactly a 5 minute install/upgrade and minus the data but it’s free and I’m too stupid to figure it out so I go with what I got lol. Peace.
My problem was that the actual posts weren’t showing. My main pages don’t show the whole post, so the permalinks were screwed.
Though I have no posts as stickies via Adhesive, disabling it fixed my issue.Upgrade Adhesive to 3.1.1.
I need some help please.
I upgraded from 2.0 to 2.0.1 and all my recent posts prior to the upgrade are no longer on the main page. Instead posts from a year ago display on the main page. Any new posts created after the upgrade do display on the main page as they should in correct order. Any idea on how I get my recent posts prior to the upgrade to display on the main page in correct order without having to repost them? Thanks for any assistance.
I upgrade with no problems…these are the steps I used, of course, ymmv ;^):
1. deactivated all the plugins
2. changed theme to default
3. uploaded ALL 2.01 files
4. opened upgrade.php file in browser
5. reactivated plugins & set theme backIf you have a custom theme that incorporates any specific plugin code, its crucial that you set your theme to default prior to uploading the 2.01 files and runnng upgrade.php
I upgraded from the old version to version 2 to 2.01
No problems …
Then imported from blogger
— the old posts were playing up so I began deleting them.
Progressively, things went wrong with “no input file specified” on the viewed site files, eventually even on admin pages until I could do nothing,
Have just reinstalled.
Now: take a look at https://www.australian-youth.info/news/index.php and tell me what’s wrong … Templates have vanished (there were no custom things, or plugins, though the imported blogger files were I might add, a bit old)Please someone help me.
I upgraded from 2.0 to 2.0.1 – so it works. No problem.
But: Where is my Entry RSS feed?
Both, the links to Entry RSS (../index.php/feed/) and Coment RSS (../index/comment/feed/), produce the SAME RSS/XML – Feed: The Comment RSS-Feed.
So, Why? Where I can find the Entry RSS?
Hi, I just upgraded my WP to the latest version (it’s my first time to upgrade)…
However, what I did was (as the instructions told me so), I deleted the old files from the root directory and installed the new one on a subdirectory (because the root is too messy if I upload the WP files there)… It ALMOST works, but it seems that the links when I log in as admin seems to be connected, still to my root directory. It’s sooo messed up to, like there’s no CSS working, everything is displayed in Times New Roman vertically! And even if I change the URLs on the options, it tells me:
“Sorry, you need to enable sending referrers for this feature to work.”
What gives? Was it a mistake, transferring the WP files to a subdirectory? Somehow it’s not with my wp-config.php file because it still connects with the database…
Help please!!! ='(
Quick Q on an problem.
Just upgraded from 2.0 to 2.0.1. Everything seemed to be working except for the Options -> Permalink page. It’s showing as a blank page.
Any reason for this? Any suggestion as to what the problem might be?
Thanks.
I upgraded and had a problem with the previous – next links down at the bottom of the main page. I made a seperate thread.

Here is the error.
WordPress database error: [You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ” at line 1]
SELECT COUNT(DISTINCT ID) FROMI found a solution by adding two lines to the posts_nav_link () funtion in one of the include files. I have the complete code in the thread above.
