    Hi all –

I’m pretty new to WordPress, and I’m in the process of moving my site from Blogger to WP. I currently have version 1.5.

    Two questions:

    1. Should I import my Blogger posts/comments into WordPress BEFORE or AFTER I upgrade from 1.5 to 2.01?

    2. I know that may plugins don’t work with 2.0 yet. If I upgrade to 2.01, will there be even fewer compatible plugins?

Please keep in mind I’m still learning WordPress and PHP. ??

    Thank you!!

I just upgraded mine to 2.0.1 without any problems at all, running great and almost all my plugins are working ??

haejin, you should probably do the upgrade first, make sure it’s working, THEN do the import.

the inline-editing in wp2.0.1 is still a little messed up, despite numerous complaints in the forum. there seems to be no way to upload the original jpeg file into the entry.

i just try to upgrade and i get this error message:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare check_admin_referer() (previously declared in /home/blog/wp-includes/pluggable-functions.php:228) in /home/blog/wp-admin/admin-functions.php on line 969

is there a way to resolve this issue?

    thanks
    victor

I upgraded, and thought I had no problems. Everything seems to work fine, until I go to post. I then get this error:

WordPress database error: [You have an error in your SQL syntax near ‘ON (wp_posts.ID = .post_id) WHERE post_date > 0 AND ID = 451 ORD’ at line 4]
    SELECT tag_id FROM wp_posts INNER JOIN wp_post2cat ON (wp_posts.ID = wp_post2cat.post_id) INNER JOIN ON (wp_posts.ID = .post_id) WHERE post_date > 0 AND ID = 451 ORDER By post_date DESC

WordPress database error: [You have an error in your SQL syntax near ” at line 4]
    SELECT post_id FROM wp_post2cat WHERE category_id =

The last part just repeats about 30 times down the page. Oddly enough, the updates are taking place, and the posts are being posted, but I have to hit the Back button after posting to get away from this error message. Any thoughts?

#gregkendallball: I have the same problem. When i post I get this error:

WordPress database error: [You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'ON (wp_posts.ID = .post_id) WHERE post_date > 0 AND ]
    SELECT tag_id FROM wp_posts INNER JOIN wp_post2cat ON (wp_posts.ID = wp_post2cat.post_id) INNER JOIN ON (wp_posts.ID = .post_id) WHERE post_date > 0 AND ID = 75 ORDER By post_date DESC

WordPress database error: [You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 3]
    SELECT post_id FROM wp_post2cat WHERE category_id =
This last part just repeats about 30 times down the page and at the end of the page:

my updates are taking place, and the posts are being posted as well. Solutions? is there a way to resolve this issue?

I update 1.5.2 to 2.0 without any problems.

Also when i delete posts i have the same problem:

WordPress database error: [You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to ...

I can′t find the problem. Please help!

upgrade was smooth for me though on three different blogs (from 2.0).

Upgrade was smooth. Everything works except as admin I can’t get to my Admin Dashboard – IE times out and FF actually downloads index.php…

blog/index.php works fine though. Just not the admin one.

    Silly moi! :-$

Tried deleting and re uploading all the new 2.01 files and all is well

    Previously on the X-Files:

    Hmmm.

    Upgrading from v1.5 => 2.01

Problems with “previous” and “next” navigation links on archive pages, getting the following SQL error

WordPress database error: [You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ” at line 1]
    SELECT COUNT(DISTINCT ID) FROM

Think I got it sorted out. I had neglected to do the upgrade step to clear out the wp-content/cache dir.

I’m having the same issue as semperfidelis. When I edit a post, I periodically get the same error. For some reason, it’s not doing it now, but it definitely was yesterday. Weird.

Try deleting all the files/folders EXCEPT wp-config.php and wp-content folder, and re-upload the 2.01 files from a fresh download
